The design idea
The design approach began with inspiration from the existing structure, consideration for the neighbor, and a desire to make it more appealing. According to the plan, the vertical strip with square windows of varying widths on the north façade creates a varied impression on each story depending on how the openings are positioned and how many there are.
Curved lines in the layout provide a sense of serenity across the area, enable mobility, and establish a constant tone in residential situations. Trying to make the kitchen open while still providing adequate seclusion by Creating an interface between semi-open kitchens and dining areas allows for customized and private access, even in constrained places.
The Disa 1 Residential Complex was envisioned with a focus on blending modern aesthetics with functional living spaces. From the outset, the design was inspired by the existing structure of the site, the surrounding neighborhood, and a desire to create an inviting and visually dynamic residential environment.
One of the key elements of the design is the north façade, characterized by a vertical strip featuring square windows of varying widths. These windows are strategically arranged to create a unique visual effect, as the pattern of openings differs from one floor to the next.
This not only breaks the monotony of the façade but also adds a sense of movement and individuality to each level of the building. The variation in window sizes and positioning also allows for optimized natural light, enhancing the interior spaces without sacrificing privacy.
The building's interior layout focuses on creating an atmosphere of calm and fluidity, achieved through the use of curved lines. These curves give the living spaces a gentle, organic flow, making the area feel more spacious and comfortable. The curved lines are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional, enabling smooth transitions between different areas of the complex and promoting a sense of continuity throughout the space.
A standout feature of the design is the thoughtful approach to the kitchen and dining areas. In many urban residential projects, space constraints can limit the functionality and privacy of these essential spaces. In Disa 1, the designers tackled this challenge by creating semi-open kitchens that balance openness with privacy. An interface was designed between the kitchen and dining areas, allowing for visual connection and ease of movement while maintaining a degree of separation. This solution enables the residents to enjoy the benefits of an open kitchen concept while still ensuring privacy when needed.
The overall layout and design of Disa 1 aim to maximize the use of the compact 283 square meter land area, providing residents with a harmonious living environment that feels open, serene, and connected to the surrounding neighborhood. The use of varied window arrangements, curved lines, and thoughtful spatial planning reflects a deep consideration for both aesthetic appeal and practicality, making this residential complex a modern and welcoming addition to Tehran’s urban landscape.
In terms of functionality, the building’s five residential floors are complemented by two common spaces that encourage social interaction and provide additional communal amenities for residents. This thoughtful integration of private and shared spaces ensures that the Disa 1 Residential Complex meets both the personal and communal needs of its residents.
