The name "Varesh" comes from ancient Persian and meaning "to rain." This project is located in Anzali, the rainiest city in Iran. For this reason, we chose a roof top design that combines the traditional Iranian arch with local gables. This allows for a complete sea view without obstructing the view of the sea.
Furthermore, we allowed the form to be viewed from both the outside and the inside. We didn't divide the walls and roof for weather-related concerns, and we kept the roof covering all the way from the top to the bottom. The rain is falling in that area from side to side. Thus, in addition to the roof, we also needed to defend the walls.
A delicate and fragile renovation requiring high
precision surgical intervention.
Having an integrated design on site, the strategy we took, combined the building to all the other elements we have in the garden.
This provides the meaning of continuity. With some strokes in form, we stimulate the imagination.
